Nip the Bite is a service provided to the community schools by the non profit organization, Vets for Pets. Every year, veterinary professional volunteers visit local elementary schools to discuss dog bite prevention with students.

Approximately 1 million dog bites receive medical attention in the United States each year. Even more bites go unreported. By educating children on the proper way to approach dogs, Nip the Bite serves to prevent future bites and injuries, instill confidence in the students when handling situations with unfamiliar dogs, and teach responsible and humane pet care to young people.
